• Low cytotoxicity profile
• Stable structure prevents shrinkage
• Removal in one piece

Description
Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag is an antimicrobial hydroactive fiber wound dressing with nanosilver technology, designed to effectively combat biofilms and a wide spectrum of pathogens, including MRSA. Its versatility allows it to be cut to fit all wound shapes and sizes, including both superficial and deep wounds with moderate to high levels of exudate.

Product Features  Benefits
Silver Nanotechnology • Destroys biofilm
• Low cytotoxicity
• Effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens, e.g. MRSA
Stable structure • Promotes removal in one piece
• Minimal shrinkage after gel formation
• Patient safety
High vertical absorption • Protects the wound edge
• Supports autolytic debridement
• Promotes effective exudate management

Indications:
Chronic wounds:
• pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers
Acute wounds:
• post-operative wounds, abrasions/ lacerations, second-degree burns, skin graft, donor site, oncological wounds
**Disclaimer: For other wounds out of the mentioned scope, please seek physician’s advice before usage**

Application:
1. Cut Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag to the needed size while it is dry, ensuring it overlaps the wound edges by about 1 cm.
2. Apply the wound dressing onto the wound bed directly. (Gel formation will occur after in contact with exudate)
3. Use a suitable secondary dressing, such as a foam or superabsorbent dressing, to hold the product in place and preserve a moist environment for the wound.
4. Replace the dressing at intervals not exceeding 7 days.

Notes: There are no age restrictions on the use of Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag in children.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place

FAQ

Q1. When to use Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag?
A1. Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag can be used as part of biofilm-based wound care. This may include mechanical wound debridement using monofilament fibre technology (e.g. Debrisoft® pad or Debrisoft® Lolly) to remove debris, slough, bacteria and biofilm from the wound where appropriate, followed by Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag to destroy biofilm, kill bacteria and prevent biofilm reformation.

Q2. What is the mode of action of Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag?
A2. When it comes into contact with wound exudate, a gel is formed, which maintains a moist wound environment and supports autolytic debridement. Then the silver nanoparticles release silver ions into the dressing, activating their antimicrobial action, including against MRSA. Bacteria, exudate and cell debris will then be trapped in the dressing and removed during dressing changes.

Q3. How does the anti-microbial effect of Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag with silver ions compared with other commercial dressings?
A3. Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag has nanosilver particles and other commerical Ag is ionic silver which differs in the size of particles – they have similar properties of anti-microbial activity. Each products have its own strength such as Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag has a better shrinkage level and lower cytotoxicity (1.1%) compared to other commercial dressings. (Mayer, D. O., et al. 2024)
