FAQ
Q1. When to change the dressing?
A1. Dressing should be changed when the moist area is reduced to 1cm to the wound edge. (Safety Distance)
Q2. What to do in case of dried out / dressing stuck to the wound?
A2. Rehydrate intensively with saline or any irrigation solution for ≥ 10mins, and then gently remove the dressing. There will be no disturbance for the wound.
Q3. What is the recommended secondary dressing to be placed on top of Suprasorb® X +PHMB?
A3. Transparent film (Suprasorb® F) or foam dressing (Suprasorb® P Senstitive).
Q4. Will the secondary dressing absorb the moisture of Suprasorb® X +PHMB which reduces the efficacy of hydrobalance towards the wound?
A4. The hydrobalance of Suprasorb® X + PHMB will NOT be affected by the type of secondary dressing used. However, if you use a normal traditional gauze as secondary dressing, it will affect the hydrobalance effect as the traditional gauze will steal the moisture given by Suprasorb® X +PHMB.
Q5. Can Suprasorb® X +PHMB be cut?
A5. Yes, it is easier to cut it before peeling off the film.
Q6. What is PHMB?
A6. PHMB is polyhexanide biguanide, a synthetically produced antimicrobial agent that has a broad-spectrum activity which can effectively kill gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses without affecting healthy human cells.
Q7. When to use Suprasorb® X +PHMB?
A7.When there is a lack of response to Ag or a high infection risk.
